I'm 58 years young and father of 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Living in south Florida for more than 30 years, I now qualify as a Floridian, but came originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. (left there in my early 20's) I started podcasting on Oct. 6, 2005, and it was a "natural" fit; my family says I missed my calling! Having always been a fan of NPR's "This American Life" I found it to be the only listenable content on the radio. Sure, I was an avid Beatles' nut, but how many years can you listen to the same stuff on the oldies FM stations over and over???


I once held a First Class FCC license, but aside from a few mid-west "on-air" auditions, it never got utilized. Life took me in another direction. I always knew there was something definitely "wrong" with mainstream media! Then, recently, I started hearing some technology podcasts. I knew I could do the music and voice mix, but that XML stuff was the stumbling block! Mike Smith of The Mike Smith Show spent 3 hours on the phone with me explaining RSS and Feedburner. His efforts were very much appreciated, but then I found Libsyn's sandbox and, as they say, the rest is history! Once the show was up and running I got some help with my html coding skills from the host of Journey Inside My Mind, Dan Johnson.


My day job? I've worked for the school district of Palm Beach County here in south Florida in a non-instructional capacity for 21 years, first as a Graphics technician, then after the demise of that dept. learned about the repair and maintenance of the school's fire alarm systems, enjoying the electronic aspect. Finally, I found my way to where I enjoy my days now as an A-V & Intercom technician. If the school district here ever latches on to educational podcasting, I'd like to be directly involved with what would be a new frontier for them! Well, that's just about everything except for mundane hobbies I've had over the years and oh yes.....I'm a "Folder!"
